A little R&R? - January 8th, 2012

The party stands in the chamber which seems to be a guard post overlooking the chasm. All is quiet for now as you have finished searching the dead drow and collecting their noteworthy possessions and checking over the immediate area. The yawning depths below beckon you with the possibility of more danger and adventure to be found, yet it has been a long day (or an hour or two at least) of battle already and you might now welcome the chance to return to the sunlit realms above and replenish your resources.

(ooc: since there won't be a real game this week you can consider this post a chance to state your in character or out of character actions and decide what you'll do. You can also post loot etc and I'll respond with results, information and rulings as appropriate.)

well, I think we need to go and sell the stuff we have gotten and rest after that last encounter. But do we go back to waterdeep or back to the keep?

you probably won't be able to sell that much stuff in Dagger Falls, also you get a better price in Waterdeep, but you could stop back to keep Randal Morn & co. appraised of events.

Matt and I priced out all the items this afternoon so he should have the totals up here pretty soon, he just needs to add em up.

It was either Jaxx or Moxie with Eagle's Splendor cast on them... I assume we'll be using this tactic again?

DM, should I roll a diplomacy check? If you'd like to roll it, Moxie's got a +13 modifier after the spell is cast.

I'll allow you to take 10 on diplomacy checks for purposes of the forums, but you guys need to decide where you're actually going before I can rule on what results that gets.

I need D'ybb to state that he teleports the party to Waterdeep unless anyone objects.

I don't think anyone will object to my Bamf, so long as it doesn't get us on a mountain top again.

Consider D'yb willing to cast both Teleport AND Eagle's Splendor for the purpose of haggling and bartering in Waterdeep. Waterdeep has better components shops and the rubes in Daggerfalls still look at him funny.


From a mechanics perspective, is a 10 (and vis-a-vis a 23 total) enough to get better selling prices?

You make your way to a nearby Tavern known as The Underdark, a dimly lit place well known for its mushroom ale, roast rothe, and selection of fine drow wine, many made with a expertly weakened measure of spider venom/

After toasting a round or two to your recent exploits, you hit the shops before dusk and manage to secure a going rate of 55% for selling your current load of loot.

OK, the loot came to 14685.54 gp per person. This is including all potions and scrolls that the party picked up along the way - scott, I can't remember if you wrote down any of those on your inventory. Also, I can't remember if we actually bought the scrolls of heal and restoration like we said we were going to. If so, I'll have to adjust the party fund - but otherwise it stands at 14036 gp

Haven't written down any scrolls or potions or anything recently.

Any takers for chipping in on a wand of Good Hope? Great Buff for everybody:

That much for 50 charges, yes. I thought Bards got third level spells at level 5 but you're right it's CL7. No complaints there.

Well, If I buy a cold iron +1 Holy or a Cold Iron Keen Holy Falchion and the comfort modifier for my armour I won't have enough to put towards the wand....but I am more than happy to have an I.O.U for the next time we get loot......it is up to you, that is a very cool buffing wand.

How long are we going to stay in Waterdeep?

While in Waterdeep, you notice that the city is unseasonably cold even for this time of year, and there are rumors of strange storms forming throughout the Sword Coast and Western Heartlands.

I also need to know how long you stay in Waterdeep.

Our stay depends on what people purchase... if Colin goes for comfort on his armor, we will need to wait 5 days for it to finish. Matt and I have purchased headbands of vast intelligence +4 so I'm sure both of our characters wouldn't mind 24 hours for our skills to kick in. Not sure what else could influence the length of our stay. Maybe some time to build up a "plan" to infiltrate the Drow, using the insignias we found before and illusion spells.

If we need to spend a few days anyway and we decide to infilrate using illusionary disguises, D'yb will offer to spend some time teaching other party members about Drow culture and behavior to help them better pass as Drow.

OK, so I spent an extra 14,000 gp and put BANE, DROW (hehehe...) on Elizabeth.
Also restocked on all bolt types.
Now I can save my bane for other bitches that need holes.

My total current value of goods plus gold is 70,965. (that includes my 1/4 for heal scrolls).

I also found the description for Smoked Goggles;

These spectacles have lenses made of smoked glass that help protect against creatures with gaze attacks. You are always treated as averting your gaze when dealing with gaze attacks, and you gain a +8 circumstance bonus on saving throws against visual-based attacks (any attack that a blind creature would be immune to). You have a –4 penalty on Perception checks while wearing the goggles, and all opponents are treated as having concealment (20% miss chance).

Just wanted to make sure I posted the revised total - Everybody got 14913.35 gp and after 2 heal scrolls and 10 charge wand of good hope, total party gold is 7687.24 gp
