It's likely the parties attempting to view you and visit unpleasant dreams upon your persons are doing so while enjoying some similar manner of magical protection. Tesper and I have some experience in these matters and it seems that the advantage usually lies with those who are casting their divinations from a well-protected sanctum, and the disadvantage with adventuring types such as yourselves who are usually on the move and thus unable to consistently remain within a protected area. I can assure you that this 'humble tavern" is well protected but beyond that there's little I can do to keep them from eavesdropping on you when you're off in the Deep Wastes."

"As for more indirect divinations, such as clerics communing with their diety or our mages contacting outer planar sources of information, such methods haven't had much more success for us thusfar. We've only managed to find out that some manner of tragedy has befallen the city of Maerimydra, a civil war or insurrection of sorts, but no more than that. Again, perhaps you might have better luck if you sought information by such means about the drow who evaded you and fled Szith Morcane."

D'yb can't say he misses using public outhouses, but he certainly feels refreshed upon his return. He catches the last bit of conversation.

"You know, with a fine silver mirror I could attempt to scry the drow vampire that eluded us. We still possess his letter and it will afford us a better probability of success."

He sits down.

"I've also been reading of ways to detect scrying and with a little research could provide us with a full day's detection. Needless to say, I will be very busy preparing for the last leg of our mission."
